Indonesia is one of the largest economy in South-east Asia. The economy grows rapidly even during the crisis (4,21% growth in 2009), while most of the countries in the world have negative growth. Here are some facts about Indonesia:

  1. Biggest archipelago country in the world with more than 17.500 islands and more than 230 million population.
  2. One of the biggest democratic countries in the world.
  3. The country has estimated Gross Domestic Product growth for 2008 was 6.1%
  4. Indonesia's main export markets are Japan (22.3%), the United States (13.9%), China (9.1%), and Singapore (8.9%). The major suppliers of imports to Indonesia are Japan (18.0%), China (16.1%), and Singapore (12.8%).  Indonesia's major imports include machinery and equipment, chemicals, fuels, and foodstuffs.
  5. The country is rich of natural resources such as crude palm oil, tin, cocoa, copper, nickel, gold and coal.
  6. The Indonesia government opened an opportunity for foreigner to invest and taking part to develop the economy of the country.
  7. Investment in Indonesia can be in infrastructure, agricultural, mineral resources and energy.
